Our Top 3 Key Takeaways from the Dublin Tech Summit 2024
At Bundledocs, innovation is part of our daily lives and is what allows us make a real difference for legal professionals daily. Our team is passionate about continued learning and the innovation taking place in our industry, and so were delighted to recently attend the 2024 Dublin Tech Summit. The legal industry has changed dramatically over the past number of years, so our aim is always to develop the most up-to-date solutions and expertise to allow us stay ahead of the curve.
Each year, the Summit brings global leaders in innovation, technology and business together to share and shape global trends. This year, our Software Engineer, Rohan Bhutani attended and details his main takeaways from the event.
1. Digital Inclusivity & Focus on User Experience
The theme of helping people through innovative technology was central to every discussion – something we are also very passionate about here at Bundledocs. One example of this in action came from UNICEF, who provides the resources for young children to learn digital skills. This is particularly useful for those with dyslexia, who can utilise speech-to-text AI tools, ensuring disabilities don’t impede their education. Soti Snap are facilitating rapid web and mobile application development with a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface. They also offer a cross-platform app for device management, aiding IT support teams, something that is important to us.
2. Versatile AI Solutions
AI technology was a main point of discussion at this year’s event with many companies highlighting the broad applicability and innovation in AI-driven solutions. One example of this is a subsidiary of the American cellular company Verizon, where AI-enabled cameras have been designed and developed to enhance driver safety, particularly for truckers. In a legal technology context, Generative AI can be integrated with daily workflows to improve efficiencies in many areas. Bundledocs users benefit from secure AI-powered text search, and Generative-AI can also be utilised for document summarisation and text translation
3. Ethical and Regulatory Technology Considerations
With AI becoming part of daily working life, the security of data and how it is being used is also an important discussion. Over 50 laws overlap with the new EU AI Act, effective May 21st. The act complements GDPR, promoting privacy by design, and advocating for responsible AI design, diverse team skills, and developer education on ethical system building. This was a topic that our Chief Technological Officer, James Hogan spoke about last year with Silicon Republic. In his interview, James shared his hope that future AI Acts would “improve our understanding of the risks of working with these modern AI models and in turn give the public greater protection from poorly or nefariously implemented applications.”
Generative AI could increase Ireland’s GDP by 8%, though global adoption lags. It’s crucial that digital transformation aligns with business goals. One such example used NASA’s framework as a guide where ethical data usage, especially in autonomous vehicles, is critical. AI’s role in space exploration is diverse, from climate change to extraterrestrial life, and it may even boost space tourism. Amazon SageMaker was also recognised for combating misinformation, with a panel preference for AI in prenatal, neonatal, and elderly care.
Looking Towards the Future
From showcasing the potential of AI across various sectors, to new technological developments and advancements, the Dublin Tech Summit was a great opportunity to learn more about what’s happening around us, and how we can use technological advancements to enhance our customers’ experiences as part of the Bundledocs solution, where we are always looking towards the future. Technology may be pushing boundaries, but this doesn’t mean it can’t be used to answer the needs of society.
At Bundledocs, our team is focused on technical excellence, customer care and dedicated to helping our clients gain the most benefit from our software. To learn more about Bundledocs and our solution, visit www.bundledocs.com.
