Bundling 2024: A Year in Review

We reached a number of milestones this year at Bundledocs. From working with over half of the UK’s Top 200 Law Firms, to growth in key markets like APAC and North America, all while enhancing our easy-to-use best-of-breed product for our 1,600+ customers. As we approach the end of the year, our Co-Founders have taken a look back at the year that was.

Growing Our Global Team

Brian Kenneally, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

This year, our team has grown to 20 people across our offices in Ireland, UK, Australia and Canada.

Lisa Walsh, our Co-Founder, was appointed as Chief Operating Officer, marking a key step in the growth of our business. With an ambitious growth plan in place, Lisa’s new role will focus on continuing to scale the business internationally - right from our Irish HQ. We also welcomed Joshua Davies to the team as Customer Support Manager, to ensure our customers receive the unparalleled support they expect from us.

In building this strong team, we are preparing for a strong year ahead. We continue to support our team members’ own development – whether that’s upskilling or attending industry events to meet our partners and customers. This year, we had team members at key industry events including ALPMA, ILTACON and the British Legal Technology Forum where they had the opportunity to meet with customers. Our team has also enjoyed meeting the engineers, software developers and customer support teams of the future at careers events and as guest speakers to university courses – including Munster Technological University in Cork, where our headquarters is based.

Bundledocs was also included in the Business Post’s Hot 100 Startups list – an achievement that recognises our team’s hard work since setting up the business in 2019. We are proud to be part of a list of that celebrates the energy, creativity and resilience of Ireland’s emerging businesses.

24/5 Customer Support

Lisa Walsh, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer

In 2024, Bundledocs reached the milestone of becoming the partner of choice for over half of the UK’s Top 200 Law Firms. The milestone has been the culmination of significant investment in our tech stack and efforts to scale our product and business over the past five years. In our mission to make the bundling process easier for our customers, we were also excited to join the Legal Software Suppliers Association (LSSA), which helps us influence the conversations that shape the future of the legal tech industry. Our Global Director of Customer Success, Miles Osborne is an active member and has enjoyed attending monthly conferences, meeting our fellow members.

In addition to welcoming Miles to our team late last year, Joshua Davies’ appointment will help further enhance our bot-free customer support offering which currently includes 24/5 support and 99.5% availability for our global customers.

As we wrap up the year, I would also like to thank our integration partners for their continued support and enhancing our collective customer experience through our powerful integrations.

The Main Benefits of Using Bundledocs to Support Your Firms’ International Expansion Goals

The 2024/2025 Briefing and HSBC UK law firms’ strategy and investment survey show that most strategic leaders are confident in the market as 2025 approaches. 84% of respondents with global locations, outside of the UK and Ireland, have highlighted further international expansion as a pillar of their strategies. According to the survey, 35% of firms have considered international expansion but cite several challenges that prevent this, including acquiring new talent, cybersecurity and ESG implications.

For law firms, digital transformation has, and continues to change court systems across the world. These firms also identify competitors that have invested in “tech-driven business models” as a greater threat to those that haven’t. Keeping this in mind, keep reading to learn how Bundledocs can support global growth for your firm.

Benefits of E-Bundling for Global Growth

The main benefits that e-bundling can bring your firm include:

Ease of Adapting to Regulations in International Jurisdictions

Bundledocs as a cloud-based solution, can provide a streamlined approach for firms that are expanding their business across multiple court jurisdictions. Our solution can help firms serve clients across UK, APAC and Americas markets, allowing e-bundling templates to be reformatted with ease. Our 24/5 customer support team will also be on hand along the way, answering any questions you may have.

Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness

We automate court preparation phases for firms, by integrating with leading case and document management solutions such as iManage, Actionstep, Clio and NetDocuments. Our solution helps streamline what was traditionally a manual, paper process, allowing firms to become more organised and less prone to error. Cloud-technology reduces the number of manual caseloads, meaning less space is required for physical storage, a cost-effective bonus for growing firms that want to fund elsewhere.

Employee Retention & Wellbeing

Collaboration is key for all teams, and with Bundledocs, global teams can collaborate on live files, bundles, binders or briefs from anywhere, at any time and on any device. This ensures a more effective and efficient review process, eliminating the need for multiple file saves and print-outs. Our solution also supports remote and hybrid working, helping your firm to expand and attract fresh talent, while providing employees with a flexible working arrangement in the form of, what some call, a ‘virtual firm’.

Security

With the recent increase in damaging cyber-attacks, cybersecurity is a huge challenge for organisations of all sizes. The survey shows that firms expect to spend more on IT systems and skills over the coming months. Bundledocs is secure-first, ensuring that professionals can focus on providing their clients with top-tier service.

Unlocking the Key Benefits of E-Bundling for the Financial Services Sector

Technology has had an impact on all industries and so it is no wonder that today’s customers expect the same level of convenience and accessibility from financial services providers as they get from other services. Bundledocs, isn’t just for the legal sector, so keep reading to find out how you can unlock the key benefits and streamline your organisation’s processes.

The Benefits of E-Bundling Technology for the Financial Services Sector

Whether your organisation is looking to increase security measures for internal document management, stay ahead of CSRD reporting regulations, or facilitate stronger collaboration, here are some of the key benefits of choosing Bundledocs.

Increased Security

As the financial sector has embraced cloud technology, it has also become a target for cyber-attacks, seeking valuable data. The average data breach in the US costs almost $6 million, highlighting the importance of choosing secure and reputable partners.

As organisations handle confidential information from their customers as part of their operations, their e-bundles should be encrypted and secure to ensure no unauthorised access. Our solution is ISO 27001 certified and uses TLS encryption technology to ensure a secure channel of communication between our servers and the user's browser. Our secure-share feature also allows users to share a password-protected bundle with anyone in the world.

CSRD Reporting

Adopting cloud solutions across all areas can help support your ESG efforts and reduce the risk of defaults from non-compliance by customers, as organisations in the sector continue to make decisions on how technology is integrated into their solutions. The financial services industry is often fast-paced, playing a crucial role in creating a sustainable economy. As such, reducing the amount of time-consuming tasks and improving efficiency is important.

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) will come into force for many banks operating in the EU, meaning they will be legally required to include “reliable and auditable sustainability data alongside financial information in their annual report.” As organisations find themselves under a greater level of scrutiny to implement and report on their sustainable practices, Bundledocs can help reduce paper usage and its associated environmental impact

Employee Wellbeing and Collaboration

Research by Deloitte showed that 66% of financial services leaders working hybrid or fully remote would leave their firm if required to return to the office full-time. Our collaboration features help organisations to embrace flexible working, such as hybrid and fully remote working options, thereby improving employee attraction and retention rates.

No training is needed to use Bundledocs, but we are still here to help during every step of your journey. Offering 24/5 customer support across the APAC, European and Americas markets, our team is happy to assist should you need us.

Customer Experience and Scalable Growth

Not only will adopting e-bundling technology have a positive impact on your processes, but it will also help you to prioritise your customers and focus on important work. Our team is focused on technical excellence and dedicated to ensuring our customers get the best out of our solution.

With customers and organisations managing finances solely online due to the advances in fintech and the fusion of technology and financial services, some organisations may now have the potential to consider scaling their operations globally. Global employees now hire teams to work entirely remotely, helping remove the need for costly offices in multiple locations, allowing organisations to streamline their overheads. As employees located globally may be working off different files, Bundledocs can easily collate files into a single shareable PDF bundle.

Internal Collaboration

Since the pandemic, cloud solutions have allowed internal teams in global organisations to excel by providing a unified platform located in one place - online. As work in the legal sector can often involve multiple departments, internal paralegals, IT and admin professionals can work together more efficiently. Users can review the same document as their internal teams, ensuring no data or updates are lost.

External Collaboration

Bundledocs allows you to work with anyone from anywhere. According to Legal Mosaic, “as client matters become more geographically dispersed, lawyers must collaborate with others operating in different sovereign nations with different legal standards, regulations, practice rules, languages, etc”. In addition to achieving increased flexibility, client confidentiality can be maintained at every step with our secure solution, which currently services over 1,600 customers across 36 countries.

Our Top 3 Key Takeaways from the Dublin Tech Summit 2024

At Bundledocs, innovation is part of our daily lives and is what allows us make a real difference for legal professionals daily. Our team is passionate about continued learning and the innovation taking place in our industry, and so were delighted to recently attend the 2024 Dublin Tech Summit. The legal industry has changed dramatically over the past number of years, so our aim is always to develop the most up-to-date solutions and expertise to allow us stay ahead of the curve.

Each year, the Summit brings global leaders in innovation, technology and business together to share and shape global trends. This year, our Software Engineer, Rohan Bhutani attended and details his main takeaways from the event.

1. Digital Inclusivity & Focus on User Experience

The theme of helping people through innovative technology was central to every discussion – something we are also very passionate about here at Bundledocs. One example of this in action came from UNICEF, who provides the resources for young children to learn digital skills. This is particularly useful for those with dyslexia, who can utilise speech-to-text AI tools, ensuring disabilities don’t impede their education. Soti Snap are facilitating rapid web and mobile application development with a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface. They also offer a cross-platform app for device management, aiding IT support teams, something that is important to us.

2. Versatile AI Solutions

AI technology was a main point of discussion at this year’s event with many companies highlighting the broad applicability and innovation in AI-driven solutions. One example of this is a subsidiary of the American cellular company Verizon, where AI-enabled cameras have been designed and developed to enhance driver safety, particularly for truckers. In a legal technology context, Generative AI can be integrated with daily workflows to improve efficiencies in many areas. Bundledocs users benefit from secure AI-powered text search, and Generative-AI can also be utilised for document summarisation and text translation

3. Ethical and Regulatory Technology Considerations

With AI becoming part of daily working life, the security of data and how it is being used is also an important discussion. Over 50 laws overlap with the new EU AI Act, effective May 21st. The act complements GDPR, promoting privacy by design, and advocating for responsible AI design, diverse team skills, and developer education on ethical system building. This was a topic that our Chief Technological Officer, James Hogan spoke about last year with Silicon Republic. In his interview, James shared his hope that future AI Acts would “improve our understanding of the risks of working with these modern AI models and in turn give the public greater protection from poorly or nefariously implemented applications.”

Generative AI could increase Ireland’s GDP by 8%, though global adoption lags. It’s crucial that digital transformation aligns with business goals. One such example used NASA’s framework as a guide where ethical data usage, especially in autonomous vehicles, is critical. AI’s role in space exploration is diverse, from climate change to extraterrestrial life, and it may even boost space tourism. Amazon SageMaker was also recognised for combating misinformation, with a panel preference for AI in prenatal, neonatal, and elderly care.

Looking Towards the Future

From showcasing the potential of AI across various sectors, to new technological developments and advancements, the Dublin Tech Summit was a great opportunity to learn more about what’s happening around us, and how we can use technological advancements to enhance our customers’ experiences as part of the Bundledocs solution, where we are always looking towards the future. Technology may be pushing boundaries, but this doesn’t mean it can’t be used to answer the needs of society.

At Bundledocs, our team is focused on technical excellence, customer care and dedicated to helping our clients gain the most benefit from our software. To learn more about Bundledocs and our solution, visit www.bundledocs.com
